We partner with a team of trusted ophthalmic specialists who see patients right here in our clinic. This means you can receive advanced care in areas like Retina, Pediatric Ophthalmology, Glaucoma, Oculoplastics, and Low Vision — all close to home.
We collaborate with Austin Retina, one of Central Texas’ largest and most experienced groups of fellowship-trained retinal specialists. With over 40 years at the forefront of retina care, their team offers advanced treatments for conditions such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal tears, and more.
Each Thursday, along with one Tuesday per month, one of their specialists—Dr. James Dooner, Dr. Mark Levitan, Dr. Peter Nixon, Dr. Shelley Day Ghafoori, or Dr. Ryan Young—visits our Waco office to evaluate and treat patients. For many, this means access to laser therapies and intravitreal injections without the need to travel to Austin. For more complex surgical cases, Austin Retina’s multiple locations across Central Texas provide convenient options for follow-up care.
We collaborate with Pediatric Eye Specialists, one of North Texas’ leading centers for pediatric ophthalmology, to provide specialized care for our young patients. Dr. Michael G. Hunt, MD, a fellowship-trained pediatric ophthalmologist, visits our Waco office monthly to evaluate and treat children with various eye conditions, as well as adults with strabismus or other eye muscle and movement disorders.
This partnership ensures that our patients receive expert, compassionate care close to home, with access to advanced treatments for complex vision challenges.
At Waco Eye Associates, we’re proud to care for most of our glaucoma patients in-house. But for more complex cases or those needing glaucoma surgery, we refer to Dr. Kalpana Jatla, who visits our Waco office monthly. Dr. Jatla is fellowship trained in glaucoma and is part of the expert team at Clarity Eye Center in Austin, Texas. Their advanced surgical techniques and deep specialization give our patients access to top-tier glaucoma care without having to travel far.
We are pleased to partner with TOC Eye and Face (Texas Oculoplastic Consultants) — one of the largest and most trusted oculoplastic and facial plastic surgery groups in Texas.
