Austin Retina is one of Central Texas’ largest group of retinal subspecialists, and have been at the leading edge of specialized retina care for more than 30 years. One of their retina fellowship-trained doctors (Dr. James Dooner, Dr. Mark Levitan, Dr. Peter Nixon, Dr. Shelley Day Ghafoori, or Dr. Ryan Young) travel to our office from Austin every Thursday (plus 1 Tuesday per month) to evaluate and treat patients with retinal pathology including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and many other conditions.  Patients requiring laser treatments or intravitreal injections can be treated right here in Waco.  For more involved surgeries, a quick trip to Austin may be required.
